New paging system gets a REAL workout at Boeing plant

Article Abstract:

Boeing's McDonnell Aircraft and Missiles Division, the company's main fighter aircraft production plant in St. Louis, is using Israel-based MADAH-Com's Wireless Audio Visual and Emergency System, or WAVES, public information system to provide an intelligible audio in a multi-tier surrounding. WAVES, which is intended to replace the big paging horns at Boeing's St. Louis production facility, is capable of broadcasting clear and clean sound and information in any kind of facility regardless of location, size or emergency status. MAHDAH-Com also provides a sign board to satisfy ADA compliance requisite for the hearing-impaired people.

Shopper shock

Article Abstract:

Shopping mall management firm Kravco Co uses Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in all properties that it manages. AEDs are akin to equipment used in hospitals which delivers a controlled electronic shock to people who suffer cardiac arrests. Kravco decided to install AEDs in its malls because huge numbers of customers visit their stores and some could be exhausted which could result in cardiac arrest while shopping.

Everybody's talking about defibrillators

Article Abstract:

Automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) are increasingly being used in the corporate market particularly in casinos and airlines. AEDs are portable, easy to use and automatic because it tell the operator when and if a shock is needed. The three primary manufacturers of AEDs are HP Heartsteam of Seattle, WA; Medtronic PhysioControl of Redmond,WA; and SurvivaLink of Minneapolis, MN.
