SafeKids: inner city CCTV

Article Abstract:

Sensormatic Electronics of Boca Raton, FL, has reported that daycare centers in six additional cities will be getting SafeKids closed-circuit security systems in Fall 1998. When the program is completed in May 1999, 21 centers in all in the US and Canada will have obtained the system. The SafeKids program is an attempt to aid inner city daycare centers to prevent vandalism, break-ins and other expensive crimes, in addition to helping arrest and convict offenders. Each SafeKids system is worth more than $10,000.

CCTV enhances security at Millennium Dome

Article Abstract:

Extreme CCTV's EX45 Hi-Impact Dome camera was used in providing security for the New Year's Eve celebrations in London's Millennium Dome. The EX45 was place at eye level in the vicinity of access doors to make clear shots of people's faces. The EX45 cameras were complemented by conventional cameras that were positioned high to provide general area surveillance. It can fit onto standard RAB conduit boxes and a gang box for integration with other electronic options.

Five accessories that enhance CCTV security effectivness

Article Abstract:

Closed-circuit television security systems can be improved with use of five video accessories. The accessories are image compression, electronic image splitting, picture-in-a-picture, data annotation and video scan reversal. Image compression devices are capable of compressing and displaying multiple full video scenes on one monitor. Image splitting devices can combine or show parts of scenes from different cameras.
