Privacy and time-consistent optimal labor income taxation

Article Abstract:

Time-consistency problems can be better understood using incomplete information as a commitment device, when examining optimal policy for taxing labor income. The way that a Pareto superior outcome can be developed is assessed.

Swedish tax reforms are assessed for the period from 1980 to 1991. The focus in on married men of prime working age. The effect of tax changes on the supply of labor are assessed.
