The honest society: stability and policy considerations

Article Abstract:

An analysis of how equilibrium honesty affects social policy considerations reveals that honesty promoting policies increase welfare while sharp increases in safeguarding programs may result in the disintegration of an honest society. Re-establishing honesty is also a very difficult and costly program once honesty has diminished. The level of honesty in society determines the amount of resources that may be devoted to safeguarding activities that directly affect the bottom line of company finances.

Dynamics of social ties and local public good provision

Article Abstract:

Social ties between individuals play a significant role in small communities in the context of the private provision of public goods. A model wherein ties are formalized through utility interdependence generates equilibrium of the private provision level and intensity of ties. The impact of public provision on intensity of ties and private provision level is also studied within the new model. In the standard model, only consumption motivates individuals.
