The impact of a nonlinear income tax on the supply of roundwood in Sweden: apolicy evaluation experiment based on cross-section data

Article Abstract:

An analysis of nonlinear income taxation is presented. The analysis focuses on the application of such a tax onthe supply of roundwood and applies cross-section data from Sweden. Roundwood supply is generated by a two-period utility maximization setting which is conditioned by forest production and a nonlinear budget constraint. It is shownthat tax consequences can be measured in terms of behavioral response and excess burden.
