A conceptual model for studying parenting behaviors in immigrant populations

Article Abstract:

The impact of immigration must be considered to understand parenting issues among immigrants. Immigrating and becoming parents can be described in similar ways as both demand similar transformations. Parenting is universally affected by parental personality, available support, and infant temperament. However, immigrant parenting is also affected by the immigrant's experiences before, during, and after migration, the immigrant's resources and ability to acculturate within the United States, and the expected parental behaviors within the immigrant's culture.

Telecommunication interventions for caregivers of elders with dementia

Article Abstract:

Telecommunication interventions have been developed for caregivers of elders with dementia. The idea is based on Riegel's dialectical theory of human development. Psychotherapeutic interventions, made very accessible by technology of telecommunication, can help caregivers to achieve positive developmental outcomes. With advances in technology more advances can be coming in the future. Advantages and disadvantages exist.
