Many corporations and businesses are becoming involved in trying to reduce medical costs. Health insurance premiums are increasing up to forty percent per year and this is becoming a major cost to businesses. California, Ohio, New York and Arizona have health planning groups that are recommending legislation, lobbying, and establishing medical clinics in order to save money. The health care providers are against the measures suggesting cost containment..

Article Abstract:

A plan is being proposed by the Health Care Financing Administration that would set rates on all Medicare services. This would allow hospitals to keep the amount that is not used in caring for a patient, but it would also mean hospitals would have to absorb the costs that are above the rate.

Hospital expenses are again rising rapidly, even after the Congressional cost control challenge of four and one-half years ago. If something isn't done soon, Washington is threatening to put controls of hospital costs.
