Formal training program for nurses aides

Article Abstract:

The Provincial House nursing facility in Marshall, Michigan instituted a formal training program for nurse aides in 1979. Shirley Kindl, R.N., started the program. The training is meant to prepare the trainee to fully understand all aspects of the geriatric patient. The areas of concentration in the training are discussed.

Nursing homes should have a Quality of Life Department the goal of which is to improve the quality of life of the residents through education, communication, knowledge of relevant legislation and encouragement in establishment of interpersonal relationships.

Facility financing for nursing homes

Article Abstract:

Many rural communities have a critical shortage of skilled nursing facilities. Financing these facilities is a major reason for this shortage. Obtaining Community Facilities Loans is one way in which to help alleviate this problem.
