Health policy researcher John E. Wennberg

Article Abstract:

Health policy researcher John E. Wennberg believes that outcomes research and clinical guidelines should play a part in health care reform. However, the methodology of such research is complex, includes many variables and must be carefully analyzed before judgments are made on the quality of a particular provider. In addition, he advocates treatment preference trials, which are clinical trials in which a patient is given a choice of treatments and then carefully monitored to produce clinical data on the treatment.
