Utilization of an inventory management company process proved to be effective in addressing problems associated with inventory. The process involves determination of firms to work with and materiel to store and finance so as to attain greater purchasing ability and to significantly reduce supplies costs. Companies participating in the process are able to purchase items at more attractive prices.

Material requirements planning II (MRP II) and statistical process control (SPC) are approaches that can be considered in a cycle inventory program to attain effective stockroom management. MRP II requires stockrooms to undertake efforts to improve storing of materials on shelves as well as in the pulling of materials. It also calls for enhancement of controls in locating materiel.

How to get parts out of prison (without paperwork)

Article Abstract:

A strategy was presented which lessens the turnaround time and amount of paperwork associated with purchasing and delivery process. The strategy, which was adopted by a minimum-security correctional facility, calls for a reduction in the total number of transactions. It also entails modification of the paperwork being delivered to the vendor from a picklist to a kanban card.
