Phobic disorder, psychotherapy, and risk-taking: an economic perspective
Article Abstract:
A negative relationship exists between psychotherapy costs and treatment of phobic disorders, specifically agoraphobia. Utilization of economic approach of rational choice under uncertainty showed that the cost of psychotherapy tends to negatively affect the ability of agoraphobics in taking risks. The adverse effect of psychotherapy costs tends to be significant in mild forms of agoraphobia.
