Article Abstract:

A step-by-step strategy for performing a kaizen blitz within two days is presented. The steps include measurement of existing performance, observation of the process, establishment of new enhanced process combinations, redesign of the process flow to introduce the new ideas, executing the new flow, measurement of the results of the new process flow, and institution of a plan of action for other remaining identified improvement possibilities.

Rapid-fire improvement with short-cycle kaizen

Article Abstract:

The concept of continuous improvement, though an appealing proposal, is usually not applicable in real life. However, short-cycle kaizen (SCK) is a more realistic concept. It offers substantial improvements in traditional measures in a short span of time. SCK realizes this through fast, repeated, time-compressed enhancements in small portions of the business. Each small improvement requires preparation, execution and maintenance.
