Root cause analysis in perinatal care: health care professionals creating safer health care systems

More people are killed in the US through medical error than any other cause. Root cause analysis provides a framework to examine sentinel events and other medical errors, thus promoting safety within the perinatal health setting.

Managing women's and children's services: contemporary models as a template for the future

Most hospitals are administered as a bureaucracy with hierarchical management, but this is not a viable structure for the flexibility and responsiveness necessary in the 21st century. The strategic business unit is one viable model to deliver women's and children's health care services.
