The World Wide Web is an excellent information resource for healthcare professionals, including those in perinatal nursing, and the public. It offers practical clinical knowledge and research resources. To access and search for information resources on topics related to perinatal nursing on the World Wide Web it is helpful to know where the key information sites can be found. Major relevant databases and bibliographies, electronic journals, and sites with informatino pertaining to perinatal nursing and community health resources are listed.

The physiology of fetal heart rate patterns and perinatal asphyxia

Article Abstract:

This article examines the use of fetal heart rate monitoring to assess fetal oxygen levels during labor. The identification and understanding of fetal heart rate patterns related to hypoxia and oxygen deprivation assist in the prevention of perinatal asphyxia, brain damage, and death.
