A patient group with complex needs

Article Abstract:

People with learning disabilities as well as mental health problems can have extremely complex needs and therefore new services are set up to understand the needs and care for this patient group. Rowan House, Buxton is a modern, purpose-built independent hospital where patients undergo a thorough assessment by the full multidisciplinary team in order to develop a care plan to develop their individual needs and take account of their holistic needs.

Learning disability nurses focus on empowering their clients and helping them to access the services they need.
