AEDs: a link in a lifesaving chain

Article Abstract:

Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) can be extremely effective in the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest. Within the workplace, AEDs are part of a wider process designed to ensure the survival of a victim of sudden cardiac arrest. This process includes early access to emergency medical services.

Defibrillators in public places training

Article Abstract:

A government initiative to provide 700 defibrillators in public places in England and the training of individuals to operate them are discussed. The recognition of cardiac arrest and its prompt treatment before paramedics arrive is discussed.

Selling your AED program to management

Article Abstract:

Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are the most effective tool for dealing with sudden cardiac arrest. AEDs are relatively easy to use, and anybody who has been trained to use an AED is protected against liability.
