Access to dental care: The triad of essential factors in access-to-care programs

Article Abstract:

The triad of factors that are essential in the successful design and operation of programs aimed at improving access to dental care for underdeserved populations are discussed. It is suggested that attention must be paid to creating an effective demand for dental care in order to respond to the economic environment that enables patients and dentists to participate in programs aimed at improving access to care.

Comparing diet, oral hygiene and caries status of adult methamphetamine users and nonusers

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to compare retrospective dietary patterns, oral hygiene behaviors, and oral health status of methamphetamine users and nonusers. Findings indicate that methamphetamine users were more likely to snack without eating defined meals, consume regular soda pop, smoke, and never brush their teeth, than nonusers.
