Rapid scale-up of antiretroviral therapy at primary care sites in Zambia: Feasibility and early outcomes: Feasibility and early outcomes

Article Abstract:

The feasibility and early outcomes of the antiretroviral therapy (ART) program is reported at primary care sites in Zambia. It is demonstrated that massive scale-up of HIV and AIDS treatment services in urban primary care sites in sub-Saharan Africa is feasible on a large scale while maintaining favorable patient outcomes.

Clinical outcomes and CD4 cell response in children receiving antiretroviral therapy at primary health care facilities in Zambia

Article Abstract:

A study examines early clinical and immunologic outcomes of children enrolled in the pediatric treatment program. The results conclude that good care provided by care providers improves the outcome of HIV-infected children in primary health care settings in Zambia.
