America's young face lead menace

Article Abstract:

Lead poisoning still threatens American children despite the 15-year ban on the use of lead-based paint in interior households. Statistics show that lead-based paint exposure affects 3 million to 4 million children, resulting in a greater incidence of behavioral problems such as attention deficit disorder. This is because lead exposure at levels previously thought to be safe for children has been shown to result in neurobehavioral deficits.

Face the hardheaded facts about motorcycle helmets

Article Abstract:

Motorcyclists without helmets are 40% more likely to be killed in a crash. Despite this alarming statistics, only 25 states and the District of Columbia have laws that require riders to wear helmets. Motorcycle-rights groups stress that wearing helmets is a choice, not a mandate. They disregard the fact that helmets effectively reduce head injuries in motorcycle accidents, save lives and reduce healthcare costs.

Learn the facts about infertility

Article Abstract:

Infertility is the inability to conceive after one year of trying or the inability to carry a pregnancy to term. Infertility, which is neither a psychological nor a sexual disorder, strikes men and women with equal frequency. Even 'normal' couples have only a 20-22% chance of becoming pregnant in a given month of unprotected intercourse.
