Reliable connection

Article Abstract:

The AMA plans to furnish information about doctors to searchers on the World Wide Web. Patients will be able to obtain biographical information about physicians, including name, address, medical school and residencies. The AMA is also testing a program called Partners in Health program that provides information by fax or mail. By contacting the AMA, physicians can restrict the release of information.

Negotiating an effective physician-patient relationship

Article Abstract:

Negotiation is important to the physician-patient relationship during the managed care atmosphere of the 1990s. Neither party has complete control over the outcome of the transaction. Consumers are more educated and medical care requires an exchange of information. Participation in the physician-patient negotiation process requires active listening.
