Best practice for managing patients' postoperative pain

Article Abstract:

The development of a best practice statement, subjective nature of pain and complexities associated with postoperative pain management techniques is described. The best practice statement aims to reduce some of the confusion and anxiety associated with caring for patients using different techniques and ensures that patients benefit from a cohesive approach to pain management regardless of the care setting.

Analyzing and improving a rapid-access chest pain clinic

Article Abstract:

A study focusing on how treatment and care are enhanced in a rapid-access chest pain clinic with the help of patients and by examination of various strategies is presented. The improvements result in a reduction of waiting time for patients, achievement of objectives, betterment of procedures and offer a new cardiac rehabilitation service for newly diagnosed angina patients.

Managing pain after thoracotomy surgery

Article Abstract:

The problems associated with post-thoracotomy pain and the techniques that are used in its management are discussed. Pain after thoracic surgery is best managed using a multimodal or balance analgesic approach in combination with non-pharmacological interventions.
