Better strategies sought against obesity

Article Abstract:

Obesity experts claims that researchers need to better understand how the body regulates weight and how energy balance mechanisms go awry to counter obesity. A greater understanding of the energy homeostatic system, which balances energy intake and energy expenditure to promote the stability of body fat mass, suggests novel targets for new treatments for obesity and metabolic syndrome.

Insulin effects weigh heavy on the brain

Article Abstract:

The risk of cognitive impairment arises when insulin regulation is disrupted, as insulin also acts in the brain to aid memory and thinking. Researchers are investigating the links between insulin and cognition and also whether the potential treatment methods arising from the research are effective for Alzheimer's disease or age-related memory impairment.
