Beverly Crown took up bodybuilding as part of her preparations for a climbing expedition to Mt Everest. Hooked on the sport, Crown eventually entered bodybuilding competitions, winning the 1989NPC National Illinois Women's Masters title and placing second in the 1991 Masters Nationals.
