Pig organs could reduce need for human donors

Article Abstract:

A process called xenotransplantation could make it possible for humans to receive organs from pigs. Human anti-inflammatory genes are implanted in swine organs to prevent rejection of the organs after they are transplanted into humans. The need for organs is demonstrated by the number of people who need heart transplants, which are approximately 4,000 and the number of people who actually get heart transplants which are approximately 1,000.

Abortion providers share inner conflicts

Article Abstract:

The National Abortion Federation sponsored a series of workshops for people who counsel women and perform abortions. In general, the providers explored their ambivalence on performing the procedures. For example, they expressed misgivings about women who have a high number of repeat abortions and who wait until late in their pregnancies to choose to abort. In addition, they discussed the physical and spiritual implications to the fetus.
