The Canadian forestry industry is being urged to take a more responsible attitude to the safety of its workers as the economic pressure of work-related illness and disability pay is having a serious impact. Legislation has also been introduced to curb smoking in public environments.

Canadian mining company agrees to 500,000 Canadian dollar fine

Article Abstract:

The Kinross Gold Corp. of Canada was fined $500,000 following the deaths of two miners in separate incidents. Both accidents were caused by a lack of safety policies and procedures.
