Choice and dose of corticosteroid for antenatal treatments

Article Abstract:

Antenatal glucocorticoid is a standard therapy for women at risk of preterm delivery before 32 to 34 weeks is studied. Betamethasone is the drug of choice whereas pharmacology of the corticosteroids suggested that a lower total glucocorticoid dose per treatment is effective for antenatal.

Antenatal corticosteroids: we continue to learn

Article Abstract:

Antenatal corticosteroid use is intended to treat respiratory distress syndrome, intraventricular hemorrhage, and neonatal death. The result indicates that any fetus between 23 and 32 weeks' gestation at risk for preterm delivery should be given the benefit of treatment.
