Article Abstract:

To address the public's concern the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has developed a web site that presents scientific research on the effects of climate changes on the environment and on human health. The web site performs an in- depth discussion of the issues regarding climate change and it reveals much of the progress made towards addressing these issues.

An inegrated assessment framework for climate change and infectious diseases

Article Abstract:

Researchers explore the relationship between climate changes and the spread of infectious diseases. Provided in the article is a framework for the further study of this relationship that allows for variation in the determinants of infectious diseases and that provides for an integration of disciplines towards a greater understanding of the whole system.

Impact of climatic change on the northern latitude limit and population density of the disease-transmitting European tick Ixodes ricinus

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that mild weather resulting from climatic changes increased Sweden's tick populations, which had previously been held in check by pronounced seasonal changes. Findings were based on matching temperatures with vital bioclimatic thresholds for tick life cycles.
