Peter May who has suffered from cluster headaches, a type of neurovascular headache, since 1999 is one among those helping to test hallucinogenic drugs, such as LSD and psilocybin as a cure. Since legal remedies have failed to relieve the pain, citizen scientists such as May have lured scientists to validate what their experiences have shown and plan clinical trials and other research to take the treatments forward.

Future developments in hormonal contraception

Significant progress is made in the improvement of contraceptive approaches and in the development of various methods like contraceptive vaginal ring, single implant and patch. Technological advances would continue to increase the choice of effective methods that facilitate family planning, contraceptive education become more prevalent and market for contraceptives more open.

Vaccines are being developed worldwide that would prevent the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases. The biggest barrier to the use of these vaccines is acceptance from parents of teenagers.
