Stroke of genius

Article Abstract:

Nurse Amanda Cahn works as a clinical nurse practitioner in Addenbrooke's NHS Trust, Cambridge, England. She is responsible for providing continuing care for patients who have had a transient ischaemic attack (TIA) from their first contact with the TIA clinic until their discharge. The nurse undertakes routine procedures at the clinic, and is also in charge of a new five-bed, five-day specialist neurovascular unit in the hospital. The development of this unit has required the development of new hospital procedures, but it has significantly reduced the length of hospital stays.
