Companies benefit when on - and off - the - job safety converge

Article Abstract:

The National Safety Council has reported that the number of workplace accidents is comparatively less as compared to the other forms of accidents. Even in the workplace accidents statistics, 45% had been caused during off job. Various companies have introduced wellness programs such as letting employees carry personal protective equipment for use in the weekend chores. The importance of the off-the-job safety program is analyzed.

Howard: workplace crashes are preventable

Article Abstract:

John Howard, the Director of National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, talks about the agency's research into workplace driving, and some of the ways workers and employers can assist in reducing the workplace driving injuries and fatalities. He says that every business is capable of taking steps to control crash costs, despite labor, material and other transportation costs.
