Article Abstract:

A "work guarantee" scheme for the unemployed graduate nurses is under debate and the government appears to be divided on the issue. Trade unions, employers and universities are looking at alternative action such as preceptorship programs for the newly-qualifieds, as well as developing "keep-in-touch" programs and talent pools to alleviate the situation, but none of the proposals are backed by solid commitments.
