Various tour agencies provide health care staff opportunities by placing them in holiday destinations like Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Dubai where they can spend a season. Many nurses opt to work overseas either on short-term contracts or for longer periods while most countries are delighted to welcome the UK nurses.

Armed services face shortage of nurses

Article Abstract:

Army officers in Iraq have warned that the U.K. Military services have a shortage of specialist nurses. Increase in the number of troops deployed at various locations as well as a worldwide shortage of A&E and ICU nurses are the major causes for a shortfall of up to 70 percent in some nurse specialties.

Article Abstract:

Nurses working in Iraq face a number of challenges, including the fear of attack and anxiety management. Shortage of A&E and ICU nurses have resulted in that nurses have to take up operational duty more often than recommended in the guidelines.
