Creative educational strategies for health promotion

Article Abstract:

Numerous strategies are explored to help health care practitioners and educators effectively promote health care in a system where dramatic changes in delivery systems are occurring. Managed care and concern over cost effectiveness require creativity in promoting good health. Block nursing which connects the community with those in need is one way to help people empower themselves and become less reliant on professionals.

Health promotion and schizophrenia: the year 2000 and beyond

Article Abstract:

Schizophrenics are at high risk for medical problems that contribute to the progression of their illness. Health promotion is a key element in circumventing further complications. The health care community needs to address ways to focus on the patient's lifestyle rather than the pathology of the disease. Support systems for care-givers also need to be developed.
