A New England Journal of Medicine study on weight and health shows that slender women have fewer health risks, but women of average weight do not face great risks. The benefits of eating soy and an analysis of nutrition news are also presented.

Crunch! Glamour puts lower-fat chips to the test

Article Abstract:

Ruffles Reduced Fat chips have 140 calories and 6.7 fat grams, and they taste just as good as regular chips. Six brands of potato chips and seven brands of tortilla chips are evaluated. Chips with olestra do not have the aroma of regular chips.

Safety guidelines are presented for foods that are stored inside the refrigerator, inside the freezer and on the door. Lists are included of stored foods that are safe to eat and those that should be thrown out immediately.
