Cut out the padding

Article Abstract:

Three million people suffer urinary incontinence in the UK, and whilst 30% would benefit from incontinence management, the remaining 70% could be cured altogether. A study carried out at a hospital in Leeds in 1992 found that management of incontinence was haphazard and needed to be reviewed. A plan was established to improve care, ensuring that the correct pad was given to the patient and allowing easy access to pads to make patients feel more independent.

With nature's help

Article Abstract:

Homeopathy is a form of natural healing promoting a patient's own healing abilities. With homeopathy it is important to match the symptoms to the remedy. In the case of patients with continence problems it is important to take a full case history so that the root cause of the condition can be explored and treated, rather than symptoms simply alleviated. In the case of children, the parents' observations should be taken into account.

American perspectives on continence

Article Abstract:

Clinical practice and treatment priorities for urinary incontinence vary throughout the world. The 1998 International Conference of the Association for Continence Advice can highlight the differences in research and practice. Urinary incontinence in the US affects around 13 million men and women, and interventions in the elderly have traditionally focused on management or containment.
