Delayed interval delivery and infant survival: a population-based study

Article Abstract:

A large population-based database is used and a retrospective cohort study was conducted to examine the perinatal outcomes of second twins in which the delivery was delayed. The results indicate that delayed delivery of the remaining fetus before 30 weeks of gestation for two or more days was associated with improved infant survival and higher infant birth weight.

A comparison of medical management with misoprostol and surgical management for early pregnancy failure

Article Abstract:

The efficacy, safety, and acceptability of the misoprostol treatment, which is increasingly used to treat women who have a failed pregnancy in the first trimester, are assessed in a large, randomized trial. Treatment of early pregnancy failure with 800 mug of misoprostol vaginally is a safe and acceptable approach, with a success rate of approximately 84 percent.

A randomized trial of saline solution-moistened misoprostol versus dry misoprostol for first-trimester pregnancy failure

Article Abstract:

The efficacy of the intra-vaginal misoprostol treatment for first-trimester pregnancy failure is studied to estimate its enhancement by the addition of saline solution. Misoprostol is effective in treating failed first - trimester pregnancy but the expulsion rate is not improved with the addition of saline solution.
