Dilation and evacuation at greater than or equal to 20 weeks: Comparison of operative techniques

Article Abstract:

Retrospective review of patients who underwent at greater than or equal to 20 weeks gestation is conducted to compare the relative safety of two techniques for surgical abortion late in the second trimester. Outcomes appear similar between patients undergoing dilation and evacuation and intact dilation and extraction after 20 weeks gestation.

Cesarean delivery of twins and neonatal respiratory disorders

Article Abstract:

Twins who are delivered by a cesarean section before the mother goes into labor have a higher risk of developing respiratory disorders, according to a study of 126 twin pregnancies. Doctors should wait until labor or after 38 weeks' of gestation.
