The prime responsibility of encouraging workers to wear personal protection equipment in the workplace lies with supervisors and managers, who must set the example and inform workers of the implications of non-compliance. The report by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the preventability of the 365,000 cases of eye and face injuries annually by simply wearing protective equipments underscores the point. The choice of eye and face protection depends on the hazards presented by the workplace and the activities therein.
