Article Abstract:

The World Health Organization's Programme on Substance Abuse conducted a study on various policies and laws on drug and alcohol abuse treatment services. It was found that substance abuse treatment became more effective when supported by legislation, policies and public health programs.

Cocaine use: the largest global study ever undertaken

Article Abstract:

The World Health Organization and the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute conducted a study on cocaine usage from 1992 to 1994. The study found no definite profile of an average cocaine user while usage varied by race, amount, frequency and duration.

Training for emergencies

Article Abstract:

The World Health Organization and the UK Overseas Development Administration conducted a joint mission to seven African countries to assess their ability to manage health emergencies. The mission emphasized the importance of training and preparedness.
