Elevated level of free 8-iso-prostaglandin F2alpha in the decidua basalis of women with preeclampsia

Article Abstract:

Elevated levels of 8-iso-prostaglandin F2alpha may cause abnormalities in blood vessel function that occur in pregnant women with preeclampsia. Preeclampsia is a serious complication of pregnancy. In a study of 16 women with preeclampsia, levels of this prostaglandin in the placenta were higher than in the placentas of women with normal pregnancies.

Effect of a cholesterol-lowering diet on maternal, cord, and neonatal lipids, and pregnancy outcome: A randomized clinical trial
