Evidence of endothelial dysfunction in preeclampsia: decreased endothelial nitric oxide synthase expression is associated with increased cell permeability in endothelial cells from preeclampsia

Article Abstract:

The endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOs) expression in endothelial cells from normal and preeclamptic pregnancies are determined to investigate the potential role of eNOs in regulating endothelial permeability in preeclampsia. The messenger RNA and eNOs expression are decreased in endothelial cells from preeclampsia and the inhibition of eNOs activity has increased the endothelial permeability.

L-Arginine erythrocyte transport in normal pregnant and preeclamptic women

Article Abstract:

A study conducted to assess the total uptake of L-Arginine erythrocyte via the amino acid transporter for nitric oxide (NO) production on 21 normal pregnant women and 21 preeclamptic pregnant women shows that the kinetics of NO precursor, L-Arginine, is altered in the erythrocytes of preeclamptic pregnant women. The uptake may contribute to the pathophysiologic mechanisms of preeclampsia syndrome.

The effects of the inhibition of inducible nitric oxide synthase on angiogenesis of epithelial ovarian cancer

Article Abstract:

Effects of inhibiting inducible nitric oxide synthase on angiogenesis that is induced by 2 ovarian cancer cell lines, SKOV and MDAH2774 are studied. Inhibition of inducible nitric oxide synthase forms a basis for a novel therapeutic treatment option for ovarian cancer therapy.
