Shape your own emergency-response plan

Article Abstract:

Companies should devise their own emergency-response plan for life-or-death illnesses or injuries that occur at work or are work-related. Emergency-medical technicians or first responders maybe employed in cases of severe injury or acute illness. Occupational health physicians and nurses may be employed or obtained through contractual services.Moreover, companies should have a back-up plan for emergencies such as calling municipal paramedics and other occupational safety and health contract providers.

Article Abstract:

The designated-driver concept introduced by the Harvard Alcohol Project in 1988 has met widespread support and criticism from all sides. Although the practice is regarded as positive by 93% of Americans, some sectors maintain that law enforcement should lead the way toward drunk-driving prevention while some view the concept as allowing passengers to drink to excess.
