Judgments reversed in patient suicide

The Texas Supreme Court reversed a trial court's ruling in favor of a nurse and a physician who had been accused of wrongful death by the family of a suicide victim. The victim, a long-term mental patient, commited suicide after being denied admission to a hospital. The court upheld the trial court's ruling for the hospital, a government entity, on the grounds of sovereign immunity.
