FluMist: an intranasal live influenza vaccine
Article Abstract:
The first intranasal, live-attenuated influenza vaccine, FluMist, is FDA approved for preventing influenza in health people 5-49 years old. Clinical testing shows that the vaccine seems to be as effective as injected inactivated influenza vaccine. It stimulates immunity by viral replication in the upper respiratory tract.

Hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia with fluoroquinolones
Article Abstract:
Clinical testing by Health Canada indicates that gatifloxacin, one of the fluoroquinolones, may cause severe, persistent hypoglycemia in elderly diabetics on hypoglycemic drug treatment. Data also indicate that it may cause hyperglycemia in non-diabetics. Gatifloxacin (Tequin) is active against pneumococci.
