Further examination of ergo standard needed

Article Abstract:

The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine believes that a national ergonomics standard needs to be implemented but an essential requirement, not currently being considered, is a process to verify diagnosis of a musculoskeletal disorder and to discover whether an injury is related to the workplace.

Ergo guidelines for nursing homes get airing

Article Abstract:

30 industry and union representatives met on 11/18/02 to discuss OSHA's proposed voluntary ergonomics guidelines for nursing homes. Both proponents and opponents of the guidelines voiced their opinions at what would be the last public conversation held by OSHA before the guidelines are released.

New Ergo study supports OSHA standard

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the findings of the research carried out by the National Academy of Sciences are discussed. It is emphasized that the study confronts the ergonomic standards established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
