Genetic models for CNS inflammation

Article Abstract:

Transgenic and knockout models for central nervous system demyelinating disease have been developed, focusing on multiple sclerosis. This research has also led to examining conditions where inflammatory response contributes to tissue repair or injury, such as ischemia, neurodegeneration, and trauma.

Fetal immunization by a DNA vaccine delivered into the oral cavity

Article Abstract:

Research describes a tangible approach to address neonatal morbidity and mortality through an immunization protocol with a DNA vaccine delivered to the amniotic fluid in the oral cavity. Data indicate that the vaccine elicits high serum antibody titers and a cell-mediated immune response.

A controlled trial of intratumoral ONYX-015, a selectively-replicating adenovirus, in combination with cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil in patients with recurrent head and neck cancer

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that the combination treatment of recurrent squamous cell cancer with ONYX-015 virus and cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil is effective in stopping tumor progression. Data indicate that chemotherapy in the absence of ONYX-015 virus caused tumor progression.
