Article Abstract:

National Safety Council Chairperson Judy Weinkauf believes that promoting safety goes beyond the workplace. As more and more women are coming to work, there is a growing concern for elderly and child care. Some of the top priority programs of the council focus on child welfare. The council is also engaged in international activities particularly in the area of disseminating information. As business and industry continue to change, Weinkauf sees a rising interest in promoting safety in the home.

Council expands into global arena

Article Abstract:

Safety, Health and Environmental Services International is a new branch of the National Safety Council formed to extend the council's cause to the international community. The group will start to focus on EC countries, American multinational corporations and later on other nations. The council plans to establish links with other safety organizations, co-sponsor international expositions and publish an international edition of the Safety and Health Magazine.

Council organizes injury prevention delegation to China

The National Safety Council organized a special delegation of 20 United States safety professionals, who visited China in November 2005. The delegation discussed about safety and health policies and practices in China.
