Article Abstract:

The World Health Organization's 1993 World Health Day theme is prevention of accidents and injuries. Deaths from crime, automobile, household, nad occupation accidents do not get the attention they deserve. Over 3.5 million people die each year from such injuries.

World Health Day 1992: Heartbeat - the rhythym of health

The World Health Organization (WHO) is dedicating World Health Day 1992 to cardiovascular health. Heart disease and strokes kill 12 million people a year, and the poor in developing countries suffer from many heart-related ailments.

Tuberculosis: a global emergency

Article Abstract:

New drug-resistant strains of tuberculosis are contributing to a world-wide epidemic of the disease, which had been a reduced threat for two decades. Public education is needed to begin to prevent deaths.
