Health and safety training at the Beeb

Article Abstract:

BBC Training & Development have launched a CD-ROM-based safety training course, entitled simply BBC Safety Course, which allows companies involved in television and radio to integrate safety training and the production process. The interactive multimedia CD-ROM monitors each user's progress and the BBC is reinvesting any proceeds in updates and course developments. The training package is available to rent for one day or a week or on an annual lease.

New health and safety training strategy

Article Abstract:

The Health and Safety Commission has launched a new strategy to improve awareness among employers of the importance of risk education in employee training. Lack of competence is blamed for 6% of all occupational injuries. Small companies with a workforce of under 50 are most likely to have overlooked health and safety training. A study by the Health & Safety Executive has revealed that 25% of employees are not given health and safety training.
