High rate of recurrence of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia after surgery in HIV-positive women

Article Abstract:

The rate of recurrence of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) in HIV-positive women after surgery in the era of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) is investigated. CD4 cell counts less than 200/mm(super 3) and a positive margin are predictors of recurrence, whereas HAART have a strong protective effect.

Response to highly active antiretroviral therapy at 6 months and long-term disease progression in HIV-1 infection

Article Abstract:

The long-term prognostic significance of different definitions of immunologic and virologic responses is compared to highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) at 6 months. The persistent impact of early response on clinical progression at 5 years emphasizes the major importance of the success of first-line HAART.
